Hi there! My name is Avery Wood. I am an IFS coach, among other things. I am originally from Ohio and moved to Portland 9 years ago with my husband, Casey, of 12 years. I've been a mental health advocate and coach since 2014 and have seen clients amongst many different backgrounds, industries and points of life. I'm passionate about exploration; exploration of the mind, the heart, desires, fears, trauma, experiences, skills, death, relationships--you name it. I believe that there is so much to hear and learn as long as we're willing to listen. I find great joy in joining my clients alongside them as they explore anything that feels alive within themselves--the dark, the light and anything in between. It's a road I'm grateful to walk on.
Outside of coaching, I am an amateur carpenter and a nature enthusiast. We have 2 dogs, Nigel and Leo that are of course, our babies. Nigel is getting much older and I have a part that is not yet willing to make peace with the certainty of losing him. I love cooking, listening to music, problem solving and reading. Like many Portlanders, I love camping and hiking, but I am also constantly seeking natural waters to swim in. I am an avid traveler and we live in a converted school bus, traveling the country.
